Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in South Jersey is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors across campus. The role requires monitoring entrances, patrolling grounds, responding to alarms, and providing escorts when requested.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of security or related experience, a high school diploma, and certifications such as Workplace Violence Prevention, Narcan, and Stop the Bleed within 6 months. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years security, law enforcement, or customer service experience preferred.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Current NJ-CPR and Stop the Bleed training within 6 months in position.

Responsibilities

• Cover security posts and monitor entrances, exits, and interior patrols.
• Respond to alarms and requests for security assistance.
• Provide escorts and ensure safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Observe and report suspicious activity and maintain security logs.
• Implement safety measures during medical emergencies and de-escalate incidents.
