Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a part-time Security Officer I to maintain safety for patients, visitors and staff. You will patrol on foot or by car, enforce hospital rules, respond to emergencies, and coordinate security operations to protect people and property.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; one year of related experience is preferred. Schedule is 20 hours weekly (3pm–11:30pm) with weekend and holiday rotations, plus comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine patrols on foot or by car of assigned areas; enforces hospital rules and monitors for safety hazards; completes detailed shift reports.
• Directs firefighting activities; inspects buildings for fire and safety hazards; participates in fire drills and safety programs.
• Directs traffic on hospital property; assists patients, visitors, and employees with vehicle problems.
• Operates security technology equipment including CCTV, access control, alarms, and radios.
• Responds to emergencies and hazardous material incidents; participates in site emergency management plans.
