Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard patients, guests and employees across on-site locations. The role requires maintaining safety protocols, conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and supporting emergency preparedness.

The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma and have at least 1 year of security, law enforcement, or military experience, plus BLS and a valid Louisiana driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of information.
• Proficient with Windows applications and keyboard.
• Effective verbal and written communication to varying levels of individuals.
• Team A Essential Personnel; report for duty during disasters.

Responsibilities

• Enforces all safety and security rules and policies on OHS property.
• Conducts routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations.
• Investigates accidents and incidents; reports promptly.
• Performs opening/lockdown of buildings as approved by Administration.
• Participates in emergency response and drills.
• Maintains annual certifications and training requirements.
• Adapts communication to patient populations and privacy considerations.
• Rest of related duties as required.
