Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Patient Safety and Quality professional to oversee and sustain a comprehensive patient safety program, ensuring regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and staff education.

Ideal candidates have RN and/or healthcare experience, a Bachelor's degree, and a passion for improving care. The role engages with multidisciplinary teams, leads risk assessments, conducts audits, and supports performance improvement initiatives to promote a culture of safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• CPHQ/CPPS certifications and RN licensure preferred.
• 3 years relevant experience preferred.
• Project management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works to strategic initiatives and promotes the patient safety and quality program, develops and monitors the strategic plan for deployment of a patient safety and quality program.
• Reviews, investigates and analyzes patient safety events, provides recommendations for interventions to improve safety and quality.
• Reviews quality and patient safety data to identify high risk areas and assists with quality improvement plans.
• Ensures ERS management and supports clinician peer review processes and related programs.
• Participates in Patient Safety and Quality meetings and collaborates with other professionals to implement best practices.
• Provides staff education on patient safety concepts and quality outcomes and engages frontline staff.
