UF Health is seeking a Patient Observer/Sitter to work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The sitter will provide a safe environment for patients requiring constant observation and assist with basic activities of daily living and diversionary activities.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be able to read/write English, follow standard precautions, recognize emergencies, and maintain confidentiality. BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

Required Education:

• High School Diploma or GED.

Necessary Skills:

• Ability to write/read in English.
• Knowledge of standard precautions.
• Ability to recognize emergency situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and awareness of ethical and legal responsibilities.

Preferred Licensure/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
