Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs’ VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System seeks two full-time Registered Nurse – Patient Safety Nurses within the Quality and Safety Service. You will oversee patient safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and foster a culture of continuous safety improvement.

Qualified candidates will be licensed RNs with English proficiency and relevant nursing education/credentials.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English (written and spoken) per VA standards.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; licensure per ACEN/CCNE accreditation.
• Statelicensure as RN upon graduation or bridge program completion; temporary appointment pending licensure.
• Foreign-trained nurses must have current, full, unrestricted registration.
• Current active RN license in any US state or DC.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement patient safety policies across the facility.
• Serve as primary resource for patient safety systems and risk reduction.
• Support development and operation of the facility patient safety program.
• Train staff on patient safety activities and promote a culture of safety.
• Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to sustain safety practices.
• Utilize safety data to guide improvements and conduct safety forums.
