JOB DUTIES
  • Reviews and follows up on Safety Events with a focus on system and process improvement.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence of adverse events.
  • Ensures accuracy of data within the Event Reporting system.
  • Monitors and analyzes Safety Event data for clusters and trends.
  • Educates staff and leaders about patient safety, including navigation of the Event Reporting system.
  • Serves as a patient safety consultant to all areas of influence.
  • With moderate guidance, communicates effectively with external audiences, including presentation to leadership groups and committees.
  • With moderate supervision, participates in and may lead improvement efforts, e.g., RCAs and Action Plans.
  • Develops self through self-study, training, and educational opportunities, seeking guidance from others when needed.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams or activities.
  • Assists with planning, management, and monitoring of assigned projects.
  • Actively participates in and assists in leading meetings and committees, as assigned.
  • Supports the achievement of department goals and objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
