Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee is seeking a nursing student or high school graduate to join our Clinical Resource Unit as a sitter, providing close supervision and safety for at-risk patients during night shifts (11pm–7:30am) on a casual, on-call basis. Under the direction of a registered nurse, you will monitor patients, assist with hygiene and mobility, and promptly communicate observations.
Weekend availability and year-round scheduling are preferred.

This is a casual position in our Clinical Resource Unit (CRU) requiring assignments throughout the hospital sitting for patients who are at risk. Requires a minimum of six 8 hour night shifts (11pm-7:30a) per 6 week schedule as most needs are on night shifts.
Once meeting that requirement, other shifts, hours may be available.
Must have some weeknight and weekend availability. no holiday rotation.
Must be able to commit to this schedule requirement year round while in school.
Self scheduling makes this very flexible for students and a great way to get experience in our hospital.
Prefer junior and senior nursing students- Seniors who don’t graduate before May 2027.
We have a high rate of promotion to RN from this role
Planning for start date of October 12, 2026 which will REQUIRE attendance at New Employee Welcome on first day from 8a-3p and one other day that week for unit training so need to keep schedule open that week.

Under the direction of a nurse, this role provides supervision for assigned patients. The main responsibility is to help keep patients safe by watching them closely and using simple safety actions. Basic tasks are performed as listed within the Patient Safety Companion Competency checklist.
