Job summary

Sky Lakes is seeking a Safety Assistant for the FLEX TEAM on a full-time, on-site basis in Klamath Falls, OR. The role supports patient safety, assists with activities of daily living, meals, and transport under RN supervision, with varied hours including weekends.

Good communication, documentation, and ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. Training and ongoing competency assessments are provided as part of Sky Lakes’ safety program.

Qualifications

• Required: Good communication skills both verbally and written.
• Must complete necessary patient documentation; maintain patient confidentiality.
• Willingness to work varied hours and some weekends; willingness to take courses as requested.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient safety from self and environment.
• Completes skills checklist and completes Age Appropriate Competencies per Sky Lakes policy.
• Assists patient with meals, feeding and ADLs per RN instructions.
• Maintains documentation of behavior observations and safety concerns; reports to RN.
• Gives clear directions to patients to reinforce teaching and orientation.
• Follows RN directions about safety for patient and environment of care.
