Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital is seeking a Patient Safety Attendant (PRN) to help protect patients at risk of falls, injury, or self-harm. You will monitor their well-being, document changes, and communicate concerns to the care team to ensure rapid response and safe care.

This role requires completing Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 90 days and prior patient care experience is preferred. In this PRN position, you will work 48 hours per pay period (every two weeks), including weekend

Schedule: PRN 2

Must work 48 hours per pay period (every two weeks), including 24 weekend hours per 4-week schedule as needed, one summer holiday per year and one winter holiday per year as needed.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Patient Safety Attendant, you will play a vital role in protecting patients at risk for falls, injury, or self-harm. You will closely monitor their physical and emotional well-being and communicate concerns, empowering the care team to respond quickly and helping care for and improve lives one moment at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Watching patients with continuous focus to ensure their safety and well-being
  • Identifying risks such as falls or self-harm and promptly alerting the care team to intervene quickly and protect patients
  • Documenting patient activity and changes with accuracy and clarity throughout your shift
  • Honoring patient privacy by safeguarding confidential information at all times
  • Collaborating closely with the healthcare team to foster a culture of compassion, respect, and teamwork

What qualifications you will need:

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Previous patient care experience preferred
