Job summary

Trinity Health’s Mount Carmel facilities in Ohio are seeking a Patient Safety Attendant for part-time shifts. You will provide support to ensure a safe environment for patients who may be mentally or emotionally incapacitated, assist with activities of daily living, and collaborate with registered nurses on care plans.

Shifts include day and night rotations with weekend and holiday rotation required. High school diploma preferred; strong communication and the ability to follow verbal and written

• Experience in patient care helpful but not required.
• Effective communication and ability to follow directions are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with personal needs and activities as directed by nursing staff.
• Observes patients to help ensure safety and report changes in condition.
• Transports patients between departments and maintains a clean, safe environment.
• Collaborates with health care team to support patient care plans.

Shift Details:

• Day Shift and Night Shift available.
• Day Shift: 7:00 am - 7:30 am
• Night Shift: 7:00 pm - 7:30 am
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required.

Position Purpose:

• In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Patient Safety Attendant provides support for a safe environment for the patient who may be mentally/emotionally incapacitated, confused, or at risk of injuring themselves or others. Provides observation of patient activities under the direction of the registered nurse assigned to manage the patient’s plan of care.

What You Will Do:

• Accompanies patients to different departments.
• Assists with patient’s personal needs including feeding, positioning, toileting, ambulation as appropriate.
• Maintains a clean, neat environment for the patient.
• Collaborates with other health care workers regarding patient plan of care and treatment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High school graduate preferred
• Experience: Previous patient care experience helpful but not necessary
• Effective Communication Skills
• Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions
