Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center is seeking a Patient Safety Attendant to provide continuous observation and dedicated monitoring for high-risk patients. You will work with the nursing team to minimize risk and support compassionate, family-like care.

Your role focuses on maintaining safety during transportation, applying fall prevention and infection control practices, and assisting with essential daily activities as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a healthcare setting preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• De-escalation training required within first 90 days of hire.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) participates in high quality, patient-centered care by providing continuous observation and monitoring for high-risk patients. In collaboration with the nursing team, the PSA ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes risk of falls and accidental or intentional self-harm. The Sitter may also assist with ba sic activities of daily living. O ur Patient Safety Attendants are passionate about ensuring an exceptional patient experience and committed to caring like family.

What You Will Do This Role:

• You will maintain a direct line of sight with patient at all times, including while family and/or visitors are in the room.

• You will accompany patients and ensure safety during transportation, testing and procedures occurring away from the patient’s normal environment.

• You will establish a safe, risk-free patient environment by utilizing knowledge of fall prevention protocols, infection control measures and self-harm prevention.

• You will perform room assessment regularly and after any visitations.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred

• Basic Life Saving Support certification required within 30 days of hire

• De-Escalation Training required within first 90 days of hire
