Job summary

AdventHealth in Louisville, Colorado, is seeking a compassionate patient care teammate to assist nursing staff with patient transport, equipment delivery, and direct observation. This role emphasizes safety, privacy, and teamwork.

Your duties include documenting patient status, assisting family-centered care, and maintaining clear communication with physicians and staff. Requires a High School diploma and BLS CPR; prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equival[Required]
  • 1+ clinical experience preferred
  • 1+ healthcare setting experience preferred
  • CPR certification required

Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing staff with transporting patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens
  • Intervene to prevent patient self-harm or harm to others
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Document patient status during shift accurately
  • Promote patient-centered care and effective communication with physicians and colleagues
  • Support staff, students, and volunteers and assist in orientation
  • Monitor patient safety and accompany patients during transport to tests or procedures
  • Follow fall prevention and infection control protocols

Job Description


  • Assists nursing staff with tasks such as transporting patients, delivering equipment and supplies, transporting specimens, delivering patient trays, answering phones, and assisting visitors when not providing direct patient observation.

  • Intervenes to prevent patient self-harm or harm to others and seeks immediate assistance for escalating incidents.

  • Demonstrates knowledtient rights to privacy and confidentiality.

  • Creates clear and accurate documentation of patient status and activities during shift.

  • Promotes positive patient interactions and advocates for patients and family-centered care in all decisions and actions.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, ensuring clear understanding among patients, physicians, and colleagues. Participates as an active member of the healthcare team, promoting teamwork and maintaining professionalism.

  • Serves as a resource to department staff, students, and volunteers, contributing to quality patient care and assisting in the orientation of new staff.

  • Maintains a direct line of sight with the patient at all times, including during family or visitor presence.

  • Ensures patient safety and accompanies patient during transportation, testing, and procedures away from the patient's normal environment.

  • Establishes a safe patient environment by utilizing fall prevention protocols, infection control measures, self-harm prevention, and performing regular room assessments.

  • Monitors and reports any changes in the patient's physical and emotional condition promptly while maintaining direct observation.

  • Other duties as assigned.



Education


  • High School Grad or Equ [Required]



Work Experience


  • 1+ clinical experience, with physician office or other healthcare related environment [Preferred]

  • 1+ of experience in a healthcare setting [Preferred]



Licenses and Certifications


  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
