Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital in Charleston, SC is seeking a Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) to help keep patients safe during vulnerable times. You will be part of a team that monitors high-risk patients, supports comfort, and contributes to high-quality care.

Available shifts are full-time nights, usually 7pm to 7am, with three 12-hour shifts per week and rotating weekends. Prior healthcare experience helps, and entry-level candidates are welcome as a path into a rewarding career in

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Prior healthcare and/or direct patient care experience helpful. Customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Keeping a close watch over patients at high risk for falls or self-harm, staying alert and ready to act while helping them feel secure and supported.
• Helping maintain a safe, clutter-free environment by following safety protocols, infection prevention practices, and keeping rooms stocked and organized.
• Reporting any changes in patient behavior or condition promptly and partnering with the nursing care team to respond quickly.
• Assisting patients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) like eating, bathing, grooming, and getting comfortable to promote dignity and comfort.
• Supporting the nursing team with tasks such as transporting patients, delivering supplies, and helping the unit run smoothly.
