Rothman Orthopaedics is looking for a Patient Responsible Representative to join our team! The role involves managing incoming patient calls, self-pay and high-deductible accounts, past due accounts, and refunds. Responsibilities include researching all aspects of self-pay collections for physician billing, pursuing payments from patients, establishing payment plans, and managing aging accounts receivables. Hours: Mon - Fri: 8am - 5pm (40 hrs/wk)

Location: Fully remote, candidates must reside in DE, FL, GA, NC, NJ, PA, SC, or TX.

Job Duties
  • Answer and resolve all patient billing calls daily.
  • Update patient records, refile, and correct claims as needed. Communicate with follow-up team billers.
  • Maintain the responsible follow-up module.
  • Manage collection accounts, verify balances, contact patients, send reminders, and coordinate with outside collection agencies.
  • Handle surgical collection accounts for physicians, attempting resolution before escalating.
  • Process credit card payments and send receipts.
  • Research self-pay collections, pursue payments, establish payment plans, and manage aging accounts.
  • Communicate with insurance companies and clinical areas to ensure accurate patient financial responsibility.
  • Manage refund requests, including contacting requesting agencies.
  • Exemplify the organization’s culture and values.
Job Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years in healthcare billing and experience in customer service or call centers.
  • Knowledge of ICD9-10 and CPT coding required.
  • Proficiency with standard office equipment and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Reliable high-speed internet and Wi-Fi connection required.
