Job summary

CHAS Health seeks an Enrollment Navigator to educate patients about CHAS services, assist with health insurance enrollment, and connect clients to community resources in Spokane, WA.

You will manage patient caseloads, review eligibility for Medicaid/CHIP/Qualified Health Plans, participate in outreach, and train staff on current insurance rules and programs while upholding a safe, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Health industry experience preferred.
• Face-to-face customer/patient service experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Certification in Washington Healthplanfinder or Your Health Idaho within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on CHAS Health services, plans, and resources.
• Enroll patients in Medicaid, CHIP, and Qualified Health Plans.
• Review patient eligibility for insurance and assistance programs.

• Track enrollments and outreach activities and report findings.

Job description

• Improve the overall health of served communities by enrolling and educating patients about CHAS services and community resources
• Oversee management of patients assigned to or eligible for CHAS managed care contracts
• Work with mixed patient populations across gender, age, ethnicity, insured status, and uninsured status
• Review patient demographics to determine eligibility for health insurance, assistance programs, and community resources
• Enroll patients in Medicaid, CHIP, Qualified Health Plans, and Qualified Dental Plans through state insurance marketplaces
• Enroll patients in food assistance, cash assistance, Medicare Savings, childcare assistance, and Low-Income Subsidy programs
• Maintain working knowledge of managed care programs, value-added benefits, and coverage scope
• Educate patients on proper insurance plan utilization, CHAS Health services, clinic and plan rules, and patient responsibility
• Review dental treatment plans, advise patients on insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs, and submit dental treatment prior authorizations when required
• Participate in community outreach programs
• Train staff on current insurance, managed care, and resource-related issues
• Track enrollments, managed care conversions, and other activities regularly
• Perform other assigned duties supporting the CHAS Health mission and core values

Requirements

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred
• Health industry experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with medical insurance very helpful
• Face-to-face customer/patient service experience required
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Basic computer and typing skills required
• Depending on clinic location, Washington Healthplanfinder navigator certification or Your Health Idaho Enrollment Counselor certification required within 90 days of hire
• Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment required
