Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a Temp Patient Representative I to support the Occupational Health Center during the upcoming flu season. The role runs from August to December with flexible hours, primarily Monday through Friday, and some weekends and night shifts.

Responsibilities include handling calls, entering patient and insurance information, verifying coverage, scheduling appointments, and processing daily receipts.

Qualifications

• High school education required or equivalent.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone promptly; identifies and categorizes calls to forward to the appropriate area.
• Demonstrates proper telephone etiquette when receiving, transferring, and placing calls on hold.
• Accurately enters patient demographics and insurance data in the computer as documented.
• Verifies insurance information, collects referrals and authorizations, and/or other forms as documented.
• Schedules appointments and records them as documented, following practice policy.
• Distributes mail accurately and on a timely basis.
• Responsible for completing daily receipts and journals and deposits to cashiers.
