UPMC Touchstone Medical Imaging in Cranberry Township, PA is seeking a Patient Representative to support outpatient radiology sites. You will welcome patients, register them, collect payments, and help schedule exams to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires excellent customer service, strong communication, and the ability to work independently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Training and onboarding assistance are also part of the job.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required
• 1+ years’ medical office experience preferred - familiarity with outpatient clinical setting and patient registration workflows, familiarity with medical terminology
• High school diploma required
• Excellent customer service, both internal and external
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

UPMC Touchstone Medical Imaging is coming soon to the suburbs of Pittsburgh in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania! Our business provides cost-effective, convenient outpatient diagnostic imaging services. A joint venture partnership between UPMC and Touchstone Medical Imaging, the nationwide leader in outpatient imaging, offers comprehensive medical imaging in one location.

Shift: Monday to Friday 8-5

Location: Cranberry Township, PA

POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Representative provides day-to-day administrative support to our outpatient radiology imaging sites to maintain office flow and efficiency. The Patient Representative is responsible for check-in, including patient reception and registration, collecting payments, and scheduling exams for patients as needed. They also assist with onboarding and training new employees. This position is the first point of contact for patients as they arrive for their appointments and therefore plays an integral role in delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for patient reception and registration, including preparation of patient paperwork and maintaining demographic and insurance information in electronic records system(s)
• Collects payments and or/establish payment plans at the time of service
• Answers, investigates and/or directs patient inquiries or complaints to appropriate parties
• Schedules patient appointments and procedures
• Manages incoming phone calls, acting as a resource for patients, referring providers, and colleagues
• Conducts outgoing patient correspondence, including appointment confirmations and following up on missed visits to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner
• Effectively communicates with other Patient Representatives and clinical staff to help maintain office flow and efficiency
• Works with centralized teams to ensure necessary authorizations, financial estimates, and orders are on file
• Assists Patient Representative Managers and Lead Patient Representatives with onboarding and training new employees
• Proactively assists other Patient Representatives and clinic staff with questions or tasks
• Other duties as assigned
