Rochester Regional Health seeks a Patient Representative for the Allergy department at SLH - Greenfield. You will use EMR modules to support patient encounters, ensure accurate documentation, and liaise with the care team.

Qualifications

  • Advanced training and/or certification in a relevant healthcare clerical role.
  • Formal education beyond high school is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of outpatient medical office experience.
  • Knowledge of EHR/EMR usage and medical terminology.

  • Administrative & Scheduling Duties: manage clerical tasks such as scheduling, referrals, phone communication, record preparation, and collection of payments.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: ensure adherence to organizational policies, healthcare regulations, and DNV accreditation standards.

Job Title: Patient RepresentativeDepartment: AllergyLocation: SLH - GreenfieldHours Per Week: Full TimeSchedule: Mon-Thurs (10hr shift) 7am - 5:30pmSUMMARY: Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) modules and other office equipment to perform all clerical tasks in an efficient and timely manner. Works in collaboration with physicians (MD, DO), Physician Assistants (PA), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), and Nurse Practitioner (NP).RESPONSIBILITIES:Patient Care Support & Communication: Assist providers by supporting patient encounters, ensuring accurate documentation in EMRs, and maintaining open communication with the care team, patients, and caregivers.Administrative & Scheduling Duties: Manage clerical tasks such as scheduling, referrals, phone communication, record preparation, and collection of payments. Help maintain efficient patient schedules and support billing and insurance inquiries.Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to organizational policies, healthcare regulations, and DNV accreditation standards. Collaborate with management to resolve clerical issues and enhance patient service quality.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Advanced technical training and/or certificationFormal education beyond High SchoolMinimum of 1-year recent outpatient medical office experience Knowledge in electronic health record (EHR / EMR) usage and medical terminologyUNION:1199-200B SEIU (CPH) ClericalNote: Not all per diem roles are union eligibleEDUCATION:LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Sedentary - Sedentary roles are primarily office-based and require prolonged sitting (67–100% of the workday) with minimal physical effort and lifting limited to under 10 lbs. Fine motor skills are necessary for computer work, writing, and telephone use, supported by clear visual and auditory ability. Cognitive and emotional demands are high due to extended concentration, frequent interruptions, independent decision-making, and information processing. Although physical exposure is low, administrative areas within healthcare environments may occasionally involve contact with infectious agents. Some roles may require flexible hours, TB screening, or a valid driver’s license.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.Any physical requirements reported by a prospective employee and/or employee’s physician or delegate will be considered for accommodations.PAY RANGE:$19.46 - $28.55The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
