Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college coursework preferred.
• Experience in medical office or hospital registration required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and confidentiality (HIPAA).

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Answer and screen incoming telephone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
• Register patients and accurately enter demographic, insurance, and billing data into the CPSI system.
• Verify and update patient information as necessary.
• Explain hospital registration, billing, and financial procedures to patients and their representatives.
• Collect patient payments and forward information to the Patient Accounts Department.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA.
