The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, healthcare front office experience, knowledge of insurances, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Healthcare front office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare insurances, benefits and contracts.
• Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
• Ability to manage difficult and stressful situations.
• Strong problem resolution skills.
• Knowledge of business office procedures.
• Good grammar, spelling and punctuation for patient communications.
• Ability to operate a computer and photocopy machine.
• Clear, concise spoken communication.
• Ability to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly and timely manner.
• Verify/update demographics and insurance information for accuracy.
• Explain credit policies and privacy protections to patients.
• Collect copays, past due balances and deposits at check-in.
• Check-out patients with after-visit summaries and follow-up scheduling.
• Act as resource for clinical team’s insurance questions.
• Train new and existing staff with supportive instruction.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and compliance.
