Job summary

Osage Nation Health Center is seeking an experienced billing specialist to handle third-party billing and insurance verification in a patient-facing environment. The role requires EPIC EHR familiarity and strong attention to detail while ensuring HIPAA and privacy compliance.

The team values accuracy, professionalism, and patient service. Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent, 1+ year in billing, 3+ months on EPIC EHR, and solid knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Third-Party Billing and Insurance Verification.
• 3+ months of EPIC Electronic Health Records experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Privacy Act and OSHA policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 or more years of experience in Third-Party Billing and Insurance Verification
• 3 or more months of EPIC Electronic Health Records experience
• Intermediate knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR)

General Qualifications

• Associate degree in Business or related field preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Patient Registration Systems & Medical Records
• Prefer knowledge of various clinical systems and software
• Requires working knowledge of specialized medical terminology
• Remains informed and compliant with current Health System, HIPAA, Privacy Act and OSHA policies and procedures.
• Must exhibit good customer service
• Must be familiar with organization structure and medical records
• Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Osage Nation
• Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics
• Requires a high level of problem-solving skills
• Must always maintain confidentially
• Requires the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs
• Must work directly with patients and/or customers as well as internal / external customers.
• Basic Life Support Certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol test
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles
