Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Registrar to join the Urgent Care Team in Post Falls, ID. This full-time, on-site role requires handling registration, pre-registration, and billing-related tasks with a focus on excellent patient service.

The position features a rotating schedule, including weekends, and a professional environment that values accuracy and multitasking under pressure.

Qualifications

• Proven typing speed of at least 40 WPM.
• Ability to utilize basic computer programs including Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform registration and pre-registration functions to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Prepare pre-registration packets for procedures and collect required documents.
• Facilitate billing and collections by obtaining needed documentation.
• Process co-payments and payments; update patient records.
• Back up incoming calls and route to appropriate staff.
• Perform nightly clinic closing procedures.
• Call patients for pre-registration notification including copays/deductibles.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer service-focused, Patient Registrar to join our Urgent Care Team!

This full-time position will have a rotating schedule, including weekends.

We need someone with a professional demeanor, can work well under stress/stress situations, will provide great customer service to our patients, and is able to multitask!

In this role you be responsible perform a variety of medical clerical duties. Some of those duties include registration and pre-registration functions to ensure the smooth transitioning of patients through the services they require; prepare pre-registration packets appropriately for each procedure; ensure that copies of appropriate documentation are obtained to facilitate the billing and collections processes; process co-payments and payments; registered patients and update medical records; back up all incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department; perform nightly closing procedures for clinic; call patients for pre-registration notification including copays and deductibles; and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred
