Patient Registrar - Fulton County Revenue Cycle

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Patient Access Coordinator-Biller and/or Revenue Cycle Manager, the Registrar is responsible for registering patients at all hospital admission points, including Emergency Department (ED), Inpatient, Swing-Bed, Outpatient, and Clinic. The role may also involve pre-registration via phone prior to the service date. The Registrar ensures all regulatory and insurance documentation is signed, verifies medical necessity when applicable, and communicates non-covered items to patients with the necessary signatures on the ABN. They also verify benefits and eligibility, calculate estimated patient responsibilities, and ensure 100% accuracy in registration information.

Job Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 12 to 18 months in healthcare or customer service
  • Other Skills: Proficiency with multiple systems, knowledge of employment laws, Microsoft Office, databases, detail-oriented, organized, excellent communication, team player, confidentiality awareness
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding
Physical & Work Environment

Ability to communicate effectively, spend extensive time at a computer, and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Work is performed in an office and hospital environment, requiring alertness and stress management.
