Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a PRN Food Service Associate in the McKay-Dee Hospital Culinary Services area. Responsibilities include patient meal tray delivery, cashier duties, food assembly, serving, and cleaning, with shifts starting as early as 6:00am or 3:00pm–8:00pm.

Most PRN caregivers work 2-3 shifts weekly, including every other weekend and some major holidays. Requirements include a Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by day one (Utah/Idaho only).

Qualifications

• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work (Utah/Idaho only).
• Demonstrated ability to work with modified diets is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and presents trays to patients using the standard process.
• Performs food preparation functions according to system standards (salad, sandwiches, vegetables, fruit).
• Follows standardized practices for Nutrition Services (dining experience, meal delivery, stock levels).
• Performs housekeeping functions including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor care, and equipment.
• Performs accurate cash/credit transactions and resolves basic customer service issues.
