Job summary

Banner Health Corporate in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a part-time Room Service Attendant for evening shifts (3:30pm-8pm). You will provide patients with meals, record preferences, and coordinate with Dietetic staff to ensure accurate orders.

The role emphasizes patient satisfaction, safe food handling, and teamwork with nutrition services; weekend and holiday rotations include a $1/hour weekend differential and an 18% night shift differential when applicable.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and mathematical skills required.
• Skills and knowledge of nutrition services as typically gained through one to two years of related experience.
• For Banner Staffing Services (BSS) team members, the food handlers' card is required within 30 days of hire.
• This position requires effective interpersonal communication skills and a friendly customer service attitude.
• The work requires the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines for working with cleaning chemicals, as well as the ability to learn and work with business computer software and point of sale systems.
• Requires the ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required.
• Must have demonstrated effective customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and obtain menu selections based on dietary orders.
• Record daily patient meal selections and preferences for one or more units.
• Edit patient menus with Diet Tech or Dietitian guidance as needed.
• Provide patient meal service and assemble trays.
• Deliver meals and handle special requests and nourishments.
• Maintain food handling and sanitation standards per licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with patients, families, nursing staff and Dietitians to resolve issues.
