Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. in Miami Beach, FL is seeking a Diet Clerk to support patient meal service on assigned units, including tray assembly, delivery, and special requests.

You will communicate patient food issues to Nutrition and Food Services and collaborate with nursing to meet dietary needs. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED preferred and about 1 year in healthcare or restaurant food service.

• Assists Nutrition and Food Services with patient meal needs and dietary requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for patient meal service on assigned units, including menu selections, tray assembly, delivery, pick up, and in-between meal service.
• Communicates and addresses patient food issues/concerns to Nutrition and Food Services.
• Interacts with nursing regarding patient nutrition needs and unit food service requirements.
• Assists dietitian with monitoring of patients who are NPO, on liquid diet, or needing intake recorded.
• Responds quickly to changes to ensure timely service and accuracy of modified diets ordered by physicians.
• Familiar with dietary restrictions and modified diets to meet diet orders.
