Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to support meal service for patients, visitors and staff in our New Jersey facilities. You will assist with food preparation, service, sanitation and safety standards to ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness of meals.

The role requires weekend and holiday availability, a High School diploma or GED, and ability to read, write and speak English. Prior nutrition knowledge is a plus; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or GED-equivalent programs.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Weekend, holiday, and rotating schedule availability.
• Knowledge of nutrition/dietetics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides all necessary customer service functions.
• Takes customer orders in a prompt, courteous, efficient manner and prepares orders per guidelines.
• Maintains clean, sanitary work areas and dining room; follows HACCP and HIPAA guidelines.
• Operates kitchen equipment and Health Touch system as required.
• Performs routine sanitation tasks and supports safe food handling and temperature records.
