Job summary

CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs is seeking a Nutrition Assistant to help deliver high-quality patient meals and support food service operations. You will prepare and deliver meal trays, assist with food preparation, and maintain cleanliness to meet safety standards.

You will interact with patients about dietary needs, monitor food temperatures, and follow allergies and therapeutic diet guidelines, while using electronic diet office software and accessing patient diet orders.

Qualifications

• One year of food service experience required.
• Good customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver patient meal trays according to dietary requirements.
• Maintain food safety by monitoring temperatures and preventing cross-contamination.
• Assist with food preparation and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Explain basic therapeutic diet orders and respond to patient questions.
• Operate electronic diet office software and access patient diet orders in the EHR.
