Job summary

CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs is seeking a Nutrition Assistant to support patient and staff food service needs in a hospital setting. You will prepare and deliver meal trays, assist with food preparation, and help maintain food safety and cleanliness.

You will interact with patients to address dietary needs, follow therapeutic diet orders, use electronic diet office software, and support a positive dining experience throughout your shift.

Qualifications

• One year of food service experience is required.
• Prefer customer service experience.
• Strong attention to detail and food safety knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food within menu/diet guidelines using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Maintains knowledge of recipe ingredients to respond to allergy questions or requests.
• Follows healthcare foodservice standards, monitors temperatures, avoids cross-contamination.
• Ensures proper meal portioning and presents meals aesthetically for patients.
• Operates electronic diet software and navigates patient diet orders in electronic records.
• Performs general cleaning of equipment and work areas, and supports production tooling and tallies.
