Job summary

Dignity Health - French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo is seeking a Nutrition Assistant to support safe, efficient patient meal service and dietary accommodations. You will prepare and deliver trays, assist with food prep, maintain cleanliness, and uphold food safety standards while engaging with patients and staff to ensure a positive dining experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Follows healthcare foodservice standards, maintains safe temperatures, prevents cross-contamination, and ensures proper labeling of food products and storage.
• Prepares and serves food per menu and dietary guidelines; responds to allergy questions.
• Adheres to standards for quality patient/customer experience; ensures proper portioning and appealing presentation.
• May include cashiering, retail service, patient tray assembly/delivery, cold prep, cleaning, catering, inventory, and housekeeping.
