JOB SUMMARY

This role is responsible for addressing member, client, and provider inquiries (balance bills and appeals), with an emphasis on educating members of the Patient Advocacy Center process.

As a Patient Intake Advocate, you will match the daily volume of incoming client claims to the correct provider using an in-house web-based application. This position may be located anywhere in the Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zones. Work schedules are as follows:

  • 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PT
  • 9:00 am to 6:00 pm MT
  • 10:00 am to 7:00 pm CT
  • 11:00 am to 8:00 pm ET

DUTIES

  1. Manages main phone line and answers all inquiries.
  2. Ensures member inquiries are addressed promptly, including education.
  3. Documents events related to medical claims clearly.
  4. Maintains a daily inventory of claims, prioritizing tasks accordingly.
  5. Responds to emails, calls, and inquiries, directing them to appropriate parties.
  6. Receives, reviews, and forwards incoming mail.
  7. Sends letters to members, records contact info, and requests documents as needed.
  8. Informs the Lead Patient Advocate of critical matters.
  9. Maintains a clean, safe, and unobstructed work environment.
  10. Ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  11. Demonstrates commitment to the company's core values.
  12. This role involves exposure to PHI-sensitive data and is considered high risk.
  13. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

JOB SCOPE

This position works under direct supervision in a results-oriented manner, within established standards and procedures. The incumbent relies on training and experience to complete responsibilities, which may be varied and complex. Regular contact with internal and external stakeholders is expected to meet customer needs when making decisions and taking actions.

COMPENSATION

The salary range is $18.25 per hour. Offers depend on education, experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), and bonus opportunities.
