Job summary

Innovative Hematology, Inc. is seeking a Patient Insurance Coordinator to help patients enroll in and maintain active insurance coverage.

You will respond to payer requests, gather required verifications, and stay current on insurance options for Indiana residents. The role involves interviewing patients, coordinating with multiple departments, and ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years related experience.
• Indiana Insurance Navigator’s License preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Screen the appropriateness of filing applications for medical coverage.
• Assist patients with obtaining verifications and documentation for eligibility.
• Monitor and assist with the application process to meet deadlines.
• Collaborate interdepartmentally to gather information on insurance coverage.
• Document insurance/financial clearance information in EMR systems and update demographics and insurance data.

Job description

As a Patient Insurance Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting patients with enrolling in and maintaining active insurance coverage, responds to payer requests for information, and remains current on all health insurance options for Indiana residents

The Opportunity

• Contact and interview patients and/or families to screen the appropriateness of filing applications(s) for medical coverage
• Assist patients with obtaining the needed verifications and documentation (with patient’s authorizations) that is required to determine eligibility
• Monitor and assist with the application process including attending interview when necessary to maintain all processing deadlines
• Collaborate interdepartmentally to gather/disperse information pertinent to patients’ insurance coverage
• Document all insurance/financial clearance information in electronic medical records systems. Assist with updating demographic, insurance, funding and medical information in these information systems, as needed
• Respond to payer requests for information

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, preferred

• Indiana Insurance Navigator’s License preferred, but not required
