Job summary

Cook County Health’s Provident Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support outpatient and inpatient pharmacy operations under supervision.

You will fill medications, enter orders, stock supplies, operate robotic equipment after training, and assist pharmacists and patients at the counter.

Requirements include a high school diploma, Illinois Pharmacy Technician license, 1 year of experience, current PTCB/ExCPT certification, and a 15 WPM typing rate. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (proof at time of interview).
• Illinois Pharmacy Technician license (proof at time of interview).
• One year full-time work experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Current certification from PTCB or ExCPT (proof at interview).
• Typing test required; 15 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Accurately fills medications and supplies from all areas of Pharmacy Services.
• Prepares stock requisitions and delivers supplies; checks stock and storage.
• Enters OTC and supply orders into computer; returns medications to stock.
• Operates robotic machinery after training; handles prescriptions from ambulatory care patients.
• Rotates stock, checks for expired medications; answers pharmacist and patient inquiries.
• Performs miscellaneous duties and clerical tasks as assigned by pharmacist or supervisor.
