Northern Nevada Medical Group, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is seeking a Medical Office Specialist for a full-time day shift. You will work at the front desk or office area, managing communications with patients, insurers and medical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, a Medical Assistant certificate or one year of MA experience, familiarity with medical terminology, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant certificate or one year MA/Medical Office experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Experience with patient check-in/check-out per clinic protocol.
• General medical office procedures.
• End-of-day cash balancing and charge reconciliation.
• Proficiency in basic computer programs (Microsoft Office).
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned, e.g., guiding patient flow and assisting during exams as needed.
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities including scheduling, charting, insurance verification and maintaining patient records.
