Job summary

SIMEDHealth is seeking a compassionate Full Time Medical Assistant to join our Gainesville clinics. The schedule is fixed from 8-12PM or 1-5PM daily, on-site, with responsibilities delivering patient care and maintaining accurate records.

You will welcome patients, document vital signs in the EHR, process medication refills, administer medications, assist with procedures (EKGs, spirometry, dressings, wound care), triage calls, and help with referrals and authorizations.

Qualifications

• Current BLS/CPR certification (required).
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or National Certification (preferred).
• 1–2 years of experience using electronic health records (preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience in a private medical office or hospital setting (preferred).
• Bilingual abilities are a plus!

Responsibilities

• Ensuring accurate and complete patient information is readily available in the EHR.
• Welcoming patients to the exam room and documenting vital signs in the EHR.
• Serving as a key point of contact for medication refill requests and coordinating between patients and providers.
• Administering prescribed medications (injections, oral, topical) as trained.
• Assisting with patient procedures (EKGs, spirometry, dressings, wound care) as needed.
• Triaging patient phone calls with care and responding to medical inquiries.
• Assisting with referrals and authorizations for procedures and surgeries.
