Qualifications

• Completion of a High School Medical Assistant Career Technical Program, or
• Graduation from an accredited School of Medical Assisting, or
• Completion of Military Medic training, or
• Certification as a Paramedic (EMT-P), or
• At least one year of experience as a physician-trained Medical Assistant in a similar clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates efficient patient flow and prepares patients for visits while assisting providers within licensure and policy.
• Completes Care Connect EMR documentation and keeps information current.
• Maintains and cleans the clinical environment, equipment, and reports malfunctions.
• Communicates respectfully with patients and coordinates with health care teams to ensure quality care.
• Monitors patient data, documents billing items, and supports process improvement initiatives.
• Acts as a clinical preceptor for new staff and supports standard work development.
