Qualifications

• Completion of three years of Internal Medicine residency is required.
• Board certification by ABIM or eligibility is expected.
• Current DEA certification is required to prescribe controlled substances.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical patient care by examining, diagnosing and treating clinical patients.
• Educate patients and families on wellness, prevention and early detection with materials and resources.
• Determine urgency of follow-up, referrals and consultations based on examination.
• Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs as appropriate.
• Document all encounters in the patient’s electronic medical record.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per federal and state regulations.
