Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network seeks a dedicated Food Service Worker to deliver patient-focused nutrition support in our Food and Nutrition Service Department. You will handle daily sanitation, food handling, and customer service with kindness and professionalism.

Responsibilities include maintaining temperatures, stocking areas, training new staff, and ensuring a safe, clean work environment while upholding our high standards of care and respect for patients and coworkers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous Food Service experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of customer, food and sanitation related activities, troubleshooting as necessary.
• Maintains excellent communication with patients, customers and coworkers and responds to issues in a timely manner.
• Records food temperatures during meal hours and takes action when temperatures are not to standards.
• Trains new employees in correct workflows as observed by supervisors.
• Maintains a safe, clean work area and ensures 100% compliance on record-keeping requirements.
• Performs daily and weekly cleaning tasks and assists with equipment maintenance as needed.
