Northwestern Medicine in Palos Heights, IL is seeking a part-time Security Officer I to help protect patients, visitors and staff. Under the direction of the Security Leadership, you will patrol facilities, respond to incidents, complete reports, and coordinate with local authorities as needed.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal and communication skills required to interact with a variety of individuals.
• Ability to write descriptive reports meeting departmental standards.
• Physical ability and knowledge to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Investigates/quells hospital incidents and disturbances to maintain safety.
• Completes descriptive reports for supervisory personnel.
• Notifies city officials and prepares reports for supervisors.
• Patrols hospital interiors/exteriors to protect patients and property.
• Interacts with staff and visitors to prevent problems and ensure security.
• Monitors access control and alarm systems; directs traffic during incidents.
• escorts staff to vehicles and handles custody of deceased when needed.
• Responds to emergency codes and follows departmental guidelines.
