Patient Financial Services Representative - CMN Coordinator

  • Reviews prescriptions and progress notes for accuracy and compliance with durable medical equipment coverage guidelines.
  • Obtains prescriptions, certificates of medical necessity (CMN) and progress notes from physician's offices and facilities.
  • Reviews reports of held revenue and prioritizes work to ensure timely billing of claims and reduction of bad debt.
  • Review patient records and submit renewal requests for certificates of medical necessity forms to physicians as needed.
  • Routine follow up required for all documentation requests sent.
  • Review all CMN forms for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
  • Must make clear and accurate notes documenting all efforts to obtain CMN forms.
  • Review and log existing documentation to release revenue.
  • Maintain open communication with patients regarding status of needed documentation
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to create a smooth patient experience

Minimum Education Required

  • High School Diploma of Equivalent
Qualifications

Minimum Experience Required

  • Previous office experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to use and apply excel formulas and functions.
  • Willingness to learn, attention to detail and good follow up skills
