Join to apply for the Patient Financial Counselor Radiation role at Cancer Specialists of North Florida.

The Patient Financial Counselor is responsible for insurance verification and eligibility, assessment of patient financial requirements, counseling patients on insurance benefits and co-pays, and obtaining and maintaining accurate patient demographics.

This position requires travel to any CSNF clinic providing radiation therapy and must be available for a flexible schedule, including early mornings and evenings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure all insurance, demographic, and eligibility information is obtained and entered accurately.
  2. Perform insurance verification on all third-party payers and obtain initial referrals for new patients.
  3. Re-verify benefits, estimate costs before treatment initiation, and obtain necessary signatures.
  4. Conduct financial counseling and forward details to the Billing Office.
  5. Assist patients in obtaining financial aid and complete all necessary forms.
  6. Set up and collect payments for payment plans.
  7. Maintain manuals, logs, and documentation as required.
  8. Protect patient confidentiality at all times.
  9. Manage account balances, resolve claim issues, and adjust accounts as necessary.
  10. Address patient questions and complaints regarding billing, providing explanations and documentation.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time position with clinic locations in Jacksonville, Fleming Island, and Saint Augustine, Florida.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) years of medical business office experience with financial counseling.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
