UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Financial Clearance Specialist to verify patient demographics, insurance information and collect co-pays and other liabilities before services. You will assess coverage, estimate patient liability, process payments, and coordinate with Financial Counselors; the role includes front-line patient service, pre-registration and adherence to department policies.

Schedule: 8:00 a.m.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in healthcare revenue cycle preferred.
• Ability to verify demographics and financial information accurately.
• Familiarity with hospital billing and insurance concepts.

Mansioni

• Verify patient demographic, financial and insurance information.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles and other payments.
• Provide service estimates and explain variables to patients.
• Ensure pre-certification and referrals are in place.
• Enter notes in the system and coordinate with Financial Counselors.
• Handle scheduling changes due to financial circumstances.
