Job summary

Florida Cancer Affiliates is seeking a Full-Time Patient Benefit Representative in our Panama City office. Primary duties include educating patients on insurance coverage, benefits, and potential out-of-pocket costs, and assessing their financial ability to pay.

The role requires three years of pre-services coordination experience, strong verbal communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding is a plus, with e-learning completion within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three (3) years patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding application.
• Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and utilize the appropriate terminology.
• Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on insurance coverage, benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses prior to treatment.
• Assess patients' ability to meet expenses and discuss payment arrangements.
• Educate patients on financial assistance programs and identify sources of assistance.
• Complete Patient Cost Estimate forms and forward information to billing.
