The Patient Financial Access Specialist - OP is responsible for facilitating patient access functions, supporting complex scheduling across multiple outpatient service areas, and ensuring accurate patient identification and information updates using various computer systems. This role acts as a liaison between patients, physicians, and nursing staff to coordinate appointments, procedures, and services, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and medical necessity requirements. The specialist must demonstrate attention to detail, sensitivity, and compassion, maintaining service excellence and supporting system improvements.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
Experience: 2-3 years in customer service, preferably in healthcare settings involving registration, scheduling, and insurance.
Skills: Organized, team-oriented, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proficient with computers and healthcare systems, ability to train others, and demonstrate empathy and professionalism.
