Job Opening: Part-Time Patient & Family Concierge, Senior at UPMC Williamsport

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Part-Time Patient & Family Concierge, Senior to join the Total Joint and Spine Unit. This adult Medical/Surgical unit specializes in Orthopedic and Acute Care Surgery patients.

This position involves evening shifts from 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., including every other weekend and holiday work.

Note: Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects their education, experience, and manager discretion at the time of offer.

Purpose:

The Concierge, Senior provides compassionate service and support to patients, families, and visitors, ensuring a high-quality experience from arrival to discharge. Responsibilities include assisting with patient and visitor navigation, environmental services, dietary assistance, patient transport, supply management, and administrative support, always maintaining focus on guest satisfaction and care quality.

Responsibilities:
  1. Destination Coordination: Greet and assist patients and families, provide directions, and handle patient information with confidentiality. Manage parking and patient belongings tracking.
  2. Environmental Services: Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and hospital areas, report maintenance issues, and replenish supplies.
  3. Dietary Services: Serve meals per dietary guidelines, ensure food safety, and deliver meals and nourishments to patients.
  4. Transportation Services: Safely transport patients, equipment, and specimens, perform equipment disinfection, and record transportation data.
  5. Supply & Equipment Management: Manage inventory, order supplies, deliver materials, and monitor equipment and refrigerator temperatures.
  6. Administrative Support: Complete administrative tasks, coordinate tests and transports, manage patient charts, and update records.
  7. General: Answer phones, respond to call lights, interact with patients, and perform unit audits and checks as directed.

Adherence to infection control, safety, and hospital policies is required. The role also involves embodying UPMC values and behaviors, including the use of AIDET and other service standards.
