UPMC Williamsport has an opening for a Part-Time Patient & Family Concierge, Senior to join the Outpatient Emergency Department at Lock Haven.

This position will be scheduled for 24 hours per week with a primary shift from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will include every other weekend and holiday shifts. Apply today!

Purpose:

The Patient & Family Concierge, Senior is responsible for providing compassionate service and support to patients, families, and visitors during their hospital stay. The main goal is to create a top-notch experience for patients, visitors, and colleagues. The Concierge, Senior will serve in various capacities across the hospital based on changing needs, including assisting with patient and visitor destination coordination, environmental services, dietary, patient transport, supply and equipment management, and administrative support. The focus remains on patient and guest satisfaction and quality of care from first to last impression.

Responsibilities:

1. Destination Coordination: Greet patients and families warmly, provide directions and escort assistance, disseminate patient information respecting confidentiality, serve as a reference for visiting hours and policies, issue parking discounts and passes, assist with patient scooters, and establish tracking of patient belongings.
2. Environmental Services: Clean and organize assigned areas, replenish supplies, make beds, inspect and report maintenance issues.
3. Dietary Services: Assemble and serve meals according to diet orders, maintain food safety, deliver and set up patient meals, and follow sanitation regulations.
4. Transportation Services: Transport patients and equipment safely and accurately, perform equipment disinfection, record transportation data, and report issues.
5. Supply & Equipment Management: Order supplies, organize storage, deliver supplies, monitor inventory and expiration dates, and manage unit-specific tasks.
6. Administrative Support: Complete administrative functions, coordinate tests and transports, respond to calls, build and maintain patient charts, and manage reports and documentation.
7. General: Answer phones, respond to call lights, interact with patients, perform hourly rounds, and ensure all responsibilities are met satisfactorily. Adhere to infection control, report incidents, and follow system-wide behaviors and values.
