Job summary

The Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center in Hampton, VA seeks a Patient Advocate to investigate, resolve, and report patient and visitor complaints and grievances. The successful candidate will oversee incident feedback in the electronic system, mediate with clinical teams, and support quality and safety initiatives through just culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare or related field required.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 1 year experience in hospital healthcare quality, safety and/or risk management preferred.
  • 1 year project development/management and strong analytical skills preferred.
  • 1 year knowledge of customer experience and patient advocacy requirements required.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to patient concerns and collaborates with leadership to assure satisfaction.
  • Investigates patient complaints, concerns and grievances thoroughly.
  • Coordinates with clinical resources to investigate care concerns.
  • Mediates to prevent litigation and supports service recovery.
  • Oversees safety and quality event reporting and closes open events related to patient experience.
