Job summary

Patient Dining Associates work in a healthcare facility, helping patients make menu selections, assembling and delivering meals, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness. They are part of the caregiving team, focusing on patient safety and satisfaction by meeting nutritional requirements and serving meals at the correct time and temperature.

Responsibilities include coordinating with nursing and culinary staff, accommodating dietary restrictions, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA and sanitation

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Determine menu alternatives for allergies, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
• Assemble meals according to each patient’s menu, retrieve trays on schedule.
• Comply with federal/state/JCAHO standards and HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Adhere to infection control policies.
• Assist dietitians with monitoring patients on special diets.
• Report issues to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly reports as required by Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Adhere to health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
