Job summary

Northridge Health & Rehab in Commerce, GA is seeking a friendly Food Service Assistant to support cooks, assemble meals, and deliver trays to patients in a compassionate, efficient manner.

The role requires basic math, safe food handling, and ability to follow dietary orders. You’ll work as part of a caring team in a nonprofit, mission-driven center that values its staff and patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
• Mathematical skills including basic arithmetic.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist cook in preparing desserts or snacks for patients.
• Assist cook in meal preparation and tray delivery.
• Carry trays to patients and assist with dining area duties.
• Clean tables, equipment and dining areas after meals.
• Prepare between-meal nourishments and beverages.
• Operate dish machine and kitchen equipment safely.
• Record temperatures and maintain sanitation and infection control practices.
